Though Priyamani was born in Palakkad in Kerala, Priyamani is not a Malayali they were basically from Bangalore, and Priyamani’s family moved to Bangalore later. Then Priyamani come to Chennai, where she had a brief stint as a model. One of the cameramen there recomended Priyamani for the film Evare.. Athagadu!, and she was eventually selected. The film didn’t do well, and she went back to Chennai. Bharathi Raja’s saw her in advertisements and offered me the Tamil film Kangalal Kaidhu Sei , through which Priyamani was noticed, though the film was not a big hit.
                      Priyamani then became busy with Tamil films, and though she got some offers from Telugu films, Priyamani was not interested in taking them up, as they were all routine second heroine roles. Madan once saw my film Adhu Oru Kanaa Kaalam and offered me the film Pellaina Kotthalo. The film was a super hit and got me Toss, Yamadonga, and the Mega Supergood Films project with Tarun.
