Azhagiya Tamil Magan

With expectations are high after the success of Pokkiri, Vijay is gearing up for the release of Azhagia Tamil Magan, in which he is acting in the direction of debutant director Bharathan. Shreya, who shared screen with Superstar Rajinikanth in Sivaji is acting opposite Vijay in the movie, besides Namitha too acting in an important role. The movie is produced by veteran producer Appachan.

It is said that film is action packed thriller, laced up with all necessary commerical ingredients. Says Vijay, ‘gone are the days when I gave importance to love stories alone and acted only in soft roles. I believe that my image had changed now and all that my fans expect from me is to do action hero characters. Fulfilling their desires, Azhagia Tamil Magan will be a thriller packed film with stunning stunt scenes.’

Machakaaran

After two hits in a row with Thiruttu Payalae and Nan Avanillai, Jeevan is gearing up for Machakaran. Directed by Kalvanin Kadhali fame Thamizh Vaanan, Kamna Jethmalani is acting opposite Jeevan in Machakaran.

Says a happy Jeevan who was thrilled at being a part of the movie, ‘the success of Nan Avanillai has given me more responsibilities and I am giving my best to Machakaran in order to repeat the magic.’

On the film, director Thamizh Vaanan says, ‘the story needs Jeevan as its hero since he would be right choice for the role. When I approached him, he immediately agreed to act in the film without any hestitation.’

Polladhavan

With Ajith is acting in the remake of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Billa, Dhanush - the son-in-law of Superstar is acting in Polladhavan, a film which has the title of Rajini’s yesteryear block buster. However, nothing has been taken from the Rajini flick, except the name.

Kuthu Ramya, who had changed her name as Divya is acting oppostie Dhanush in Polladhavan. With G V Prakash handling the music, debutant Vetrimaran wields the megaphone for Polladhavan, which is expected to give a break for Dhanush after the flop show of Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram.

Says Dhanush, ‘I am very much impressed on hearing the script from Vetrimaran. However, when we selected Polladhavan as the title, we had to approach Rajini sir to get his nod. But, without even thinking for a minute, he immediately gave us the permission.’

Vel

                          
After a gap of more than one year with Sillunu Oru Kadhal being his last, actor Surya is busy wrapping up the shoot for his Vel.

The movie features Surya in a dual role and acting opposite him is Asin, who plays a radio jockey. A major portion of the movie was shot in a village near Tirunelveli.

Speaking on the movie, direct Hari says, ‘we have highlighted the need for the joint family system, that is on the decline today. Our culture and values are lost due to the emergence of nuclear families.’

Kannamoochi Yaenada

Priya, who directed Kanda Nal Muthal starring Prasanna, Laila is currently directing Kannamoochi Yaenada with Sathyaraj, Radhika and Prithviraj in pivotal roles. A one time assistant of Mani Ratnam, Priya says she is happy with the shaping up of Kannamochi Yaenada.

‘Kannamoochi will be different from my earlier venture. I feel relaxed and comfortable in the sets. With shooting is on at a hectic pace, the movie would hit the screens soon, ‘ saya Priya.

Says Prithiviraj, ‘ Kannamoochi will surely be a milestone in my career. It will surely portray a different dimension of mine.’ Echoing him, Sandhya says, ‘after Kadhal, Kannamoochi will be an important movie. I have given my best in terms of performance.’
